Palestinian artist Tarek Al-Ghoussein's retrospective has been extended until August 1st at the Sharjah Art Museum in the United Arab Emirates. It is the first time his entire Self Portrait series will be presented in their original format of light boxes. His most recent work, E Series, is also on display. Al-Ghoussein is living and working in the U.A.E. but is Palestinian, born in Kuwait. Al-Ghoussein's Self Portrait work draws upon this arab identity and more specifically his Palestinian identity. E Series retains the solitary figure of his earlier work, but uses it to examine notions of ordering, positioning and movement in relation to the landscape.
